MSI's upcoming handheld gaming device

MSI has just released a teaser video for its first-ever PC handheld gaming device, officially announcing the upcoming launch of the “MSI Dragon.” Insider information suggests that this handheld will be powered by the Core Ultra 7 processor, delivering performance twice that of the Ryzen Z1 Extreme.

The MSI CLAW handheld features a layout familiar to those used in the current market, with dual joysticks positioned on the left and right, RGB light rings around the edges, a directional pad on the left side, and four action buttons on the right. It also appears likely to feature a screen with a 16:10 aspect ratio and will include smaller function keys along the edges, as well as the iconic MSI Dragon shield logo.

It’s worth noting that last year, companies like ROG and Lenovo have already released handhelds equipped with the AMD Z1 Extreme processor (equivalent to Ryzen 7 7840U specs), priced under 5000 yuan. The CLAW handheld is expected to offer similar features to the ASUS ROG Ally handheld and will come pre-installed with the Windows 11 operating system, along with gaming storefronts such as Steam and the Epic Games Store.

The MSI CLAW handheld is set to debut at the 2024 CES event, with sales projected to begin in the first quarter of the same year.
