Apple to Launch New Mac Studio in Late 2024

Mark Gurman of Bloomberg believes that Apple is developing a new Mac Studio, which could be launched in the second half of 2024.

In his “Power On” newsletter this weekend, he shared some details about this development. He mentioned that the new Mac Studio‌ might feature the fourth version of the yet-to-be-announced M3 chip. Like its predecessors, this would double the components of the “Max” version, suggesting it could come with up to 32 CPU cores and 80 GPU cores.

Research firm TrendForce anticipates that Apple could unveil the new ‌Mac Studio‌ with an M3 Ultra chip at WWDC in June, following the pattern Apple set with the M2 Max and M2 Ultra Mac Studio last year. Before launching these models in 2023, reports claimed that Apple was already working on two subsequent models.

Gurman also speculates that Apple might use this new high-end chip to refresh the Mac Pro. He suggests that it is unlikely for Apple to abandon this machine after just a year.
