As per the details provided, Motorola’s new smartphone is priced at $149.99, approximately equivalent to 1080 Chinese Yuan. Key Features

Specifically, the Moto G Play (2024) features a 6.5-inch LCD display. The liquid crystal display (LCD) is a type of flat panel display used for television and computer screens, known for its low power consumption, small size, and low radiation. However, it is noteworthy that many major smartphone manufacturers have been increasingly using OLED screens instead of LCD screens in their new devices.

Furthermore, the smartphone’s screen boasts an HD+ resolution of 1600 x 720, with 269 pixels per inch (ppi), and supports a 90Hz refresh rate. A 90Hz refresh rate means the screen can refresh 90 times per second, resulting in smoother visual experiences and reduced motion blur.

Moreover, the Moto G Play (2024) features slightly wide bezels, a matte finish on the back, a water-resistant coating, and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

Performance and Camera

In terms of core specifications, the Moto G Play (2024) is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 4G processor. The Snapdragon 680, based on 6nm process technology, is an octa-core processor targeted mainly at the mid-to-low-range smartphone market. It utilizes Qualcomm’s Kryo 265 CPU architecture, offering approximately 20% improvement in CPU performance compared to the previous generation Snapdragon 678 processor. Additionally, it is equipped with an Adreno 610 GPU, providing around a 10% boost in GPU performance compared to the Snapdragon 678, delivering better image quality and smoother frame rates for mobile gaming.

The smartphone also comes with 64GB of storage, expandable up to 1TB via a microSD card. On the camera front, it boasts a 50MP main sensor with an f/1.8 aperture, supporting 8x digital zoom and various shooting modes such as night vision, portrait, real-time filters, panoramic, professional mode (long exposure), dual-shot photos, and continuous shooting. It also supports HDR and phase detection autofocus. Additionally, the front-facing camera is 8MP and features integrated Google Lens and AI-driven smile detection. In this regard, the Moto G Play (2024) offers a competitive edge in its camera configuration within its market segment.

Android 13 also includes optimizations for foldable and tablet devices, with Google enhancing the interface design to seamlessly adapt more applications to different sizes of Android devices, thereby providing an enhanced user experience.

As for the price, the Moto G Play (2024) is set to be priced at $149.99 and will be officially launched in the US smartphone market starting from February 8, 2024.
