IDC Ranks OPPO Top 3 in ’23 Smartphones; #1 in Foldables

On January 25, 2024, the International Data Corporation (IDC) released its latest data, revealing that the total shipment of smartphones in China in 2023 was approximately 271 million units, marking a 5.0% year-on-year decline and the lowest shipment volume in nearly a decade. With a market share of 16.7%, OPPO secured its position in the top three in the domestic smartphone market in 2023, thanks to its solid operational capabilities.

IDC pointed out that OPPO’s ability to hold a 16.7% market share in the top three domestically demonstrates impressive brand resilience and product strength. The newly launched Find N3 series helped OPPO reach a new high in the market share for products priced above $800. In the vertical folding sub-market, the Find N3 Flip continued to sell well, propelling OPPO to the top position in the vertical folding market. The Reno series maintained its strong performance, enabling OPPO to capture the top market share in the $400-600 price range. Additionally, its subsidiary brand, OnePlus, experienced a remarkable growth with a 200% year-on-year increase in shipments.

OPPO’s outstanding product performance is attributed to its research and innovation. With the rapid advancement of AI large model technology, smartphones are poised to enter the era of AI phones. In 2023, OPPO officially introduced its self-trained large model, AndesGPT, and became the first in the industry to implement a 7-billion-parameter model at the edge on the newly launched OPPO Find X7 series. This breakthrough brings next-generation AI experiences, such as natural language understanding, text content summarization, and call voice summarization, to users. The Find X7 series has already been widely embraced by consumers, achieving a 402% increase in sales volume across all channels within 5 minutes of its full-scale launch.
