Huawei P70 Series’ Screen Revealed

Huawei Reveals P70 Series Screen and Performance Details

On January 29, Huawei revealed two new screens for the P70 series. One model harks back to the Huawei P40 series with a reduction from 6.67 inches to 6.58 inches, maintaining a 1.5K resolution, 2.5D and deep micro-curve design, catering to users who prefer a smaller screen body. Additionally, details about the imaging and performance of the Huawei P70 series have also been exposed, so let’s take a quick look.

According to the latest leaks, the Huawei P70 series will come equipped with the Kirin 9 series chip, indicating a significant upgrade. There are two screen versions, sized at 6.58 inches and 6.8 inches, with consistent parameters such as 1.5K resolution, support for LTPO adaptive refresh rate, and a deep micro-curve four-curve screen design with a 2.5D touch for better feel, similar to the Huawei Mate60 Pro screen.

In terms of imaging, two solutions are presented: the primary OV50H camera supports physical variable aperture, likely for the larger model. The second primary camera is the Sony IMX989 with physical variable steel ring, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, as well as an additional 50-megapixel periscope telephoto lens supporting telephoto, macro, and 4X optical zoom functions. The flagship 1-inch sensor paired with Huawei’s imaging, along with an exclusively polished 4X optical zoom lens, will excite photography enthusiasts.

Furthermore, the Huawei P70 series boasts several other advantages, including the new dual-way satellite communication technology, a high-density battery of no less than 5000mAh, earpiece-style stereo dual speakers, and a new rear camera module, among others. The width of the Huawei P40 Pro body is 72.6mm, with a screen size and aspect ratio of 6.58 inches and 19.8:9, as shown in the image below.

Considering the current P series’ 20:9 aspect ratio, the Huawei P70 with a 6.58-inch screen should feature a narrower body, making it a favorite among users who prefer smaller screens. Another reason to label it as a small-screen flagship is that the Xiaomi 14 with a straight screen has a body width of 71.5mm. Of course, if a 6.1-inch screen can also return to the P series models, that would be even more perfect.

Opinion from Qiji:

Regarding the Huawei P70 series, Qiji’s thoughts are as follows: In addition to the Kirin chip and a more powerful imaging system, if Huawei wants to further stage a comeback and expand the differentiation of its products, offering different screen sizes is a shortcut. Coupled with HarmonyOS and dual-way satellite communication, utilizing more selling points and advantages to attract different consumer preferences is the key to rapidly increasing sales and breaking through hurdles.
