Ranking of Best-selling Phones in History
The ranking of the highest-selling phones in history has recently been compiled, with Nokia and Apple dominating all of the top 10 spots. This analysis was based on data from Wikipedia, Yahoo Finance, and the research firm Omdia.
Topping the list is the Nokia 1100, the best-selling phone of all time, with sales exceeding 2.5 billion units over six years before it was discontinued in 2009.
Despite the presence of smartphones like the Nokia E series and iPhone, the Nokia 1100 gained popularity in developing countries due to its ability to meet basic mobile phone needs, coupled with its robust quality and affordable price, making it a favorite among people in these regions.
Second on the list is also a Nokia model, the 1110, with sales of 2.48 billion units. The third spot is held by the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, with a total sales of 2.22 billion units, marking them as the best-selling iPhones and the most popular smartphones of all time for Apple.
Out of the remaining 17 phones in the top 20, only the Samsung E1100 (ranked 11th) and the Motorola Razr V3 (ranked 17th) managed to break the monopoly of Nokia and Apple.
