Successful Launch of Tianzhou-7 Cargo Spacecraft
On January 17, 2024, at 22:27 Beijing time, the Long March-7 Y8 carrier rocket carrying the Tianzhou-7 cargo spacecraft was ignited and launched at the Wenchang Space Launch Center in China. Approximately 10 minutes later, the Tianzhou-7 cargo spacecraft successfully separated from the rocket and entered its intended orbit. Subsequently, the spacecraft’s solar panels unfolded smoothly, ensuring a perfect launch. Following this, the Tianzhou-7 cargo spacecraft will rendezvous and dock with the in-orbit space station.
The Tianzhou-7 cargo spacecraft is loaded with consumables for astronauts, propellants, experimental equipment, and it will also deliver Chinese New Year “goodies” to the crew of the Shenzhou-17 spacecraft.
This mission marks the 4th launch after the application and development phase of China’s manned space engineering to the space station, the 31st launch since the project’s inception, and the 507th flight of the Long March series carrier rockets.
Congratulations to China’s aerospace industry!
