According to the latest data from the China Information and Communications Research Institute, in November 2023, the domestic mobile phone shipment in the market was 31.21 million units, a year-on-year increase of 34.3%. Among them, 5G mobile phones accounted for 27.09 million units, a year-on-year increase of 51.2%, representing 86.8% of the total mobile phone shipments during the same period.
From January to November 2023, the overall domestic mobile phone shipments totaled 261 million units, a year-on-year growth of 7.1%. Out of this, 5G mobile phone shipments reached 215 million units, marking a 12.9% increase and constituting 82.5% of the total shipments during the same period.
It’s clear that 5G mobile phones have become the mainstream in the mobile phone market.

The “China Mobile 2023 Smart Hardware Quality Report” selected high-selling and high-profile 5G smartphones launched between November 2022 and December 2023.
Looking at the price range, there are four 5G phones priced above 8000 yuan. They are OPPO Find N3 with a 12GB+512GB version priced at 9999 yuan and a 16GB+1TB Collector’s Edition priced at 12999 yuan; vivo X Fold2 with a 12+256GB version at 8999 yuan and a 12+512GB version at 9999 yuan; Samsung Z Fold5 priced at $1799 (approximately 12868 yuan); Xiaomi MIX Fold3 priced at 8999 yuan for 12G+256G, 9999 yuan for 16G+512G, and 10999 yuan for 16G+1T.
Between 4000 yuan and 8000 yuan, there are 9 models, including two from OPPO, one each from vivo and its sub-brand iQOO, two from Apple, and one each from Honor, Xiaomi, and OnePlus.
There are a total of 9 models priced between 2500 yuan and 4000 yuan, including one from iQOO, two from OPPO, one from realme, one from Redmi, one from vivo, and one each from Honor, Xiaomi, and OnePlus.
For phones priced below 2500 yuan, there are 9 models, with three from Honor, two from Redmi, and one each from iQOO, realme, and vivo.
5G Straight Screen Phone Evaluation Ranking
In the comprehensive evaluation of 5G straight screen phones, in the price range over 4000 yuan, Xiaomi 14Pro ranked first, Honor Magic5 Pro ranked second, and vivo X90 Pro+ ranked third; in the price range of 2500 yuan to 4000 yuan, Honor 100 Pro ranked first, Xiaomi 14 ranked second, and vivo X100 ranked third; in the price range below 2500 yuan, Honor X50 GT ranked first, Redmi K70 ranked second, and Honor 100 ranked third.
5G Folding Screen Rankings
In the comprehensive evaluation of 5G folding screens, OPPO Find N3 received five stars and ranked first; Samsung Z Fold5 received four stars and ranked second; Xiaomi MIX Fold3 received four stars and ranked third; Honor Magic V2 received four stars and ranked fourth; vivo X Fold2 received four stars and ranked fifth.
Which Smartphone Excels in Photography and Gaming?
The report from China Mobile also provides insights into the best-performing 5G smartphones in dimensions like photography and gaming.
In terms of photography, vivo X100 Pro received five stars and ranked first, followed by Samsung S23 Ultra with four and a half stars in second place, and Honor Magic5 Pro with four and a half stars in third place.
In the gaming performance evaluation, Red Magic 9 Pro received five stars and ranked first; iQOO 12 Race Edition received five stars and ranked second; iPhone 15 Pro received four stars and ranked third.
