iPhone 16 Boasts Over 15 Upgrades & New Vertical Camera Array

On February 19th, news has emerged that although the official release of the iPhone 16 series is still a while away, rumors and leaks have been circulating for over a year. It is reported that the iPhone 16 will feature more than 15 upgrades compared to its predecessor, according to various foreign sources.

The upcoming iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus are expected to largely retain the design of their predecessors, meaning that their dimensions and weight will not undergo significant changes. The body weight of the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus were 171g and 201g respectively, while the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus are expected to be slightly heavier at 173g and 203g.

One of the most eye-catching enhancements in terms of appearance is the vertical arrangement of the rear cameras on the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus. This design is intended to facilitate capturing spatial videos. Additionally, the physical mute switch is said to be replaced by the action button introduced in last year’s Pro version, along with a new capture button.

The iPhone 16 series will be upgraded to feature the new A18 chip, which not only boasts enhanced performance but also a more powerful neural engine that supports the independent generation of artificial intelligence functions. It is anticipated that the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus will come with 8GB of RAM and support WiFi 6E connectivity, as opposed to the 6GB of RAM and WiFi 6 connectivity found in the iPhone 15 series.

There are likely to be significant improvements in battery technology and fast charging capabilities in the iPhone 16 series. These upgrades may include higher battery density and faster charging speeds. Rumors suggest that the battery of the iPhone 16 Plus could be smaller than the previous generation, although the impact on battery life remains unclear.

Leaked information indicates that the iPhone 16 series will feature stacked battery technology to further enhance energy density and prolong lifespan, in contrast to the single-layer battery technology used in the iPhone 15 series.

The battery capacities of the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus are expected to be 3561mAh and 4006mAh respectively, supporting 40W fast charging and 20W MagSafe wireless charging. In comparison, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus have battery capacities of 3349mAh and 4383mAh, supporting 27W fast charging and 15W MagSafe wireless charging.

On other fronts, the iPhone 16 series will feature brighter micro-lens technology for enhanced OLED display efficiency, support for spatial video capture, upgraded microphones with higher signal-to-noise ratio and waterproofing to facilitate new artificial intelligence functions. The upcoming iOS 8 system is also set to introduce support for these new AI features and will include a set of AI functions exclusive to the iPhone 16 series.

As time progresses, let’s continue to keep an eye out for more leaks and information regarding the iPhone 16 series.
