During MWC24 in Barcelona, Huawei’s President of Cloud Core Network Product Line, Zhiguo Gao, unveiled the 5.5G Intelligent Core Network solution. It has been deployed in all 31 provinces in China, supporting up to 50 million users. Moreover, this technology has been widely validated in various regions such as Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, and the Asia-Pacific. Huawei is planning to launch the commercial version in 2024.
One of the core experiences of 5.5G is Three Component Carrier Aggregation (3CC). By employing a combination of three carrier network solutions with technologies like Deterministic Experience Assurance, network quality and user experience can be further enhanced. This year, mainstream terminal manufacturers will successively release devices supporting 3CC, such as smartphones and CPEs, providing users with an improved user experience.
The era of 5.5G is a comprehensive end-to-end solution for evolution and upgrade, incorporating technologies such as 5.5G, F5.5G, and Net5.5G. It brings a 10x improvement in network performance, offering peak capabilities of downlink 10 Gbps and uplink 1 Gbps. Additionally, there is a 10x enhancement in latency, positioning, and reliability, achieving millisecond-level latency and cost-effective massive IoT in the process.
Yang Chaobin, Director of Huawei and President of ICT Products & Solutions, had previously announced at the MWC Shanghai exhibition in 2023 that Huawei will introduce a full set of 5.5G network equipment for commercial use in 2024.
