OnePlus & Xiaomi to debut with new Snapdragon 7 & 8 chips in March

CNMO Tech News

CNMO has learned that recently some digital bloggers have disclosed that the new Snapdragon 7 series and 8 series platforms from Qualcomm will be debuted by OnePlus and Xiaomi, respectively. Moreover, the models launching with the new Snapdragon platforms are set to be officially released next month, March. The specific models of the debut devices were not revealed by the bloggers, but the topic of #Xiaomi Civi4# was mentioned. From this, it is speculated that Xiaomi Civi4 is likely to debut with the new generation Snapdragon 8 series platform.

Previously, another blogger revealed that the brand new Snapdragon 8 series, with the codename SM8635, is set to debut in the first half of this year. It will adopt the same architecture as the Snapdragon 8 Gen3 (SM8650), with even higher AnTuTu scores than the Snapdragon 8 Gen2 (over 1.7 million). Some analysis suggests that Snapdragon SM8635 can be seen as a “youth version” of Snapdragon 8 Gen3, with expected lower CPU frequencies but maintaining flagship-level performance. Reports indicate that the first device to launch with the new 8 series platform will be the Redmi Note 13 Turbo. This contradicts the hint from the first blogger, so it is still uncertain which Xiaomi model will be the debut device.

As for the other new 7 series platform, there have been many rumors circulating. It is reported that this platform will be named Snapdragon 7+ Gen3 (codenamed SM7675) and will be debuted by OnePlus Ace 3V.

According to CNMO, Snapdragon 7+ Gen3 will share the same architecture as Snapdragon 8 Gen3, showing not only excellent power efficiency but also significantly improved performance compared to Snapdragon 7+ Gen2. It is said that its AnTuTu benchmark score can reach 1.7 million points, rivalling the Snapdragon 8 Gen2 performance.
