Huawei launches Starlight F50 Router: Wi-Fi 7, 2Gbps, peaks at 2432Mbps

Huawei Unveils Starlight F50 Router with Wi-Fi 7 Support, Reaching Speeds of Up to 2432Mbps

On February 27th, during MWC24, Huawei’s Vice President of Optical Products, Jin Zhiguo, provided an in-depth analysis of the all-optical target network for F5G-A, aiming to accelerate the popularity of gigabit internet, support the future network evolution to 10 gigabits, and usher in the commercial year of F5G-A.

Simultaneously, Huawei introduced the industry’s first FTTR+X product – the iFTTR Starlight F50, increasing speeds from 2000Mbps to 3000Mbps, and supporting the latest Wi-Fi 7 network.

The iFTTR Starlight F50 looks very similar to its predecessor F30, but now includes an SSD hard drive at the back, serving as a complete optical home storage center. Apart from local storage, it also offers cloud backup services.

This hard drive provides users with up to 8TB storage capacity and features like smart album search. Users can easily back up their photo albums to the iFTTR Starlight F50 with a simple tap on their phones.

In terms of connectivity, the iFTTR Starlight F50 offers one 2.5G port and three gigabit ports. In a test by Beijing Unicom, a 2000Mbps broadband connection was able to reach speeds of up to 2356Mbps (Unicom generously adds a 20% broadband boost).

With the support of Wi-Fi 7 technology, Wi-Fi speeds can reach up to 2432Mbps, even faster than wired connections! Furthermore, Wi-Fi 7 boasts a minimal gaming latency of only 10ms, which is only a quarter of Wi-Fi 6’s latency.
