In the fourth quarter of 2023, the smartphone market in Latin America saw a growth of 20%. Throughout 2023, the market in the region grew by 2%, reaching 118.9 million units.

According to Canalys analysis, in the fourth quarter of 2023, Samsung led the market in Latin America. However, due to the increased sales of entry-level products by manufacturers such as Xiaomi, Transsion, and ZTE, its market share fell below 30% for the first time since the fourth quarter of 2014. In the second position, Motorola has adjusted its long-term strategy by strengthening its market position through solid partnerships with major carriers and retailers. Aside from discontinuing products like the E and G series, Motorola is carving out a space in the higher price segment market through the Edge and foldable razr series.

Apple ranks fifth, with a 20% year-on-year growth mainly driven by successful shipments in Brazil and Mexico, where these two markets account for 85% of the iPhone 15 series shipments.

Canalys predicts that the smartphone market in Latin America will achieve a 3% growth in 2024.
