Google has recently invited users of the Canary channel to test an update for the Chrome browser, with a focus on expanding the Live Caption feature, now supporting 11 languages including Simplified Chinese.

The latest stable version of the Chrome browser currently defaults to English and also supports subtitles in French, German, and Italian. The new Canary version includes support for languages such as Hindi, Turkish, Thai, Spanish, Portuguese, Polish, Korean, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and Indonesian.

This feature utilizes machine learning technology to automatically add subtitles to audio and video, making it easier for the deaf or hard of hearing to access the internet.
