Core i9-14900KS Hits 9.1GHz on ROG Z790!

On March 14th at 23:00, Intel officially announced the full specifications and release information of the Intel Core 14th Gen processor, the i9-14900KS, with the key feature being that the i9-14900KS will now boost up to 6.2 GHz, making it the desktop processor with the highest default acceleration frequency. At the same time, the ROG MAXIMUS Z790 APEX ENCORE motherboard also pushed the i9-14900KS to 9117.75MHz, breaking four world records and reaching a new performance peak.

Key Features of the Intel Core 14th Gen Processor i9-14900KS

  • Incorporates Intel Thermal Velocity Boost technology, achieving an impressive turbo frequency of up to 6.2 GHz, making it the fastest desktop processor ever by Intel.

  • Features 24 cores (8 performance cores and 16 efficiency cores), 32 threads, a 150W processor base power, 36MB Intel Smart Cache, and 20 PCIe lanes (16 PCIe 5.0 lanes and 4 PCIe 4.0 lanes).

ROG MAXIMUS Z790 APEX ENCORE Pushes i9-14900KS to Extreme, Breaking Four World Records

Alongside the official release of the i9-14900KS, ROG also announced that overclocking expert Elmor used the ROG MAXIMUS Z790 APEX ENCORE motherboard to overclock the i9-14900KS to a remarkable 9117.75MHz. Subsequently, Safedisk using the same configuration and settings broke three more world records, completing the PiFast test in 6.79 seconds, SuperPi 1M calculation in 3.768 seconds, and PYPrime 32B in 97.596 seconds. The previous record of overclocking the i9-14900KF to 9043.92MHz was also set by the ROG MAXIMUS Z790 APEX ENCORE motherboard, and this new overclocking achievement with the i9-14900KS establishes a new peak.

The ROG MAXIMUS Z790 APEX ENCORE is equipped with a powerful 24+0+2 power stage design, featuring a 105A Dr.MOS chip in the processor power section, providing unprecedented power support for extreme overclocking. Additionally, it comes with robust VRM heatsinks and dual ProCool II high-amperage auxiliary power connectors, ensuring stable power delivery even under extreme overclocking conditions. Regarding memory, the motherboard offers two DIMM slots, avoiding signal interference from redundant memory slots, allowing gamers to challenge the limits of memory frequency without any worries.
