OnePlus Ace 3V: Fast Snapdragon 7+, AI-boosted OS wins me over.

Overview of OnePlus Ace 3V: Embracing Snapdragon 7+ and AI-Enhanced OS

Design and Display:

The OnePlus Ace 3V has undergone significant changes in terms of design this time. A prominent alteration is the vertical arrangement of the rear camera module, with a moderately raised design that features a chamfered edge around the lenses and a circular LED flash at the bottom. The size of the camera module is noticeable, yet in daily usage holding it with one hand does not easily touch the lenses.

The OnePlus Ace 3V still features the three-stage toggle switch, making it convenient to switch between silent, vibration, and ring modes. The volume and power buttons are located on the same side; however, the position of the volume buttons feels slightly high, requiring a particular adjustment for one-handed use.

The front of the phone is adorned with a 6.74-inch 1.5K resolution display, adopting a center punch-hole design, with well-controlled bezel width and support for fingerprint recognition.

The screen can achieve a peak brightness of 2150 nits. In terms of eye protection, the display supports OnePlus’ “Bright Eye Eye Protection” technology, offering features like natural light display, 2160Hz high-frequency PWM dimming, and 1 Pulse DC dimming, aiming to minimize eye fatigue caused by prolonged screen viewing.

We have the Phantom Purple Silver version of the OnePlus Ace 3V, which looks very appealing in color. Importantly, it utilizes a metal frosted glass process, providing a delicate rear cover texture that is fingerprint-resistant. I personally find the purple color scheme suitable for both males and females, offering a harmonious aesthetic.

Performance Experience:

OnePlus has been focusing on product performance in recent years, and the direct incorporation of the third-generation Snapdragon 7+ in the OnePlus Ace 3V does come as a surprise. The third-generation Snapdragon 7+ shares the same architecture and fabrication process with the third-generation Snapdragon 8. It features a CPU configuration of 1 large 2.9GHz X4 core, 4 2.6GHz A720 cores, and 3 1.9GHz A520 cores, along with an Adreno 732 GPU. Additionally, the OnePlus Ace 3V offers up to 16GB LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB UFS 4.0 flash storage.

The device achieved an Antutu benchmark score of 1477571 points, Geekbench 6 scores of 1886 for single-core and 5009 for multi-core performance, and an impressive 3DMark Wild Life Extreme score of 3083. Judging from these benchmark results, labeling the third-generation Snapdragon 7+ as a “mini 8 Gen3” seems quite appropriate.

When it comes to gaming, the OnePlus Ace 3V supports the HyperBoost 2.0 gaming frame rate stabilization engine and also features HDR graphics. Turning on these two options in games can provide a better gaming experience.

We conducted frame rate tests of the OnePlus Ace 3V in two popular games, “Honor of Kings” and “Genshin Impact.” In the test of “Honor of Kings,” with the highest frame rate, ultra-high resolution, and ultimate graphics quality settings turned on, the average frame rate was 120.56fps with an average power consumption of about 3.6W.

In the “Genshin Impact” test, with high graphics quality mode and 60fps mode enabled, after testing for half an hour, the average frame rate reached 59.6fps, with a power consumption of 4.65W. There were no noticeable lags during gameplay, showing really good performance.

In an environment with a temperature of 27°C, we also conducted a heating test on the phone. After an 18-minute game of “Honor of Kings,” the highest temperature of the phone reached 34.4°C. Following a half-hour game of “Genshin Impact,” the highest temperature of the phone reached 37.7°C.

Furthermore, we ran 20 rounds of stress tests with Wild Life Extreme. After 20 rounds of testing, the OnePlus Ace 3V’s performance stability reached 83.4%. It can be seen that the phone’s heat dissipation is good as it can maintain excellent performance under heavy load for extended periods.

Camera and Charging Performance:

The OnePlus Ace 3V features a dual rear camera setup, including a 50MP IMX882 main camera and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens. The main camera has a maximum aperture of f/1.95 and supports optical image stabilization.

There is no need to worry about the imaging quality of the main camera. Even when zoomed in to a 2x focal length, whether in daylight or low-light conditions, it can deliver a fairly good image quality. However, the performance of the ultra-wide-angle lens shows a decrease in image quality in low-light conditions. ## Impressive Features of the OnePlus Ace 3V

The OnePlus Ace 3V deserves a lot of praise for its ProXDR display feature when viewing photos in the gallery. With its high-brightness screen, it perfectly showcases the highlights and shadows of photos, making the overall viewing experience of the pictures very natural.

In terms of battery life, the OnePlus Ace 3V introduces AI battery management technology for the first time. Based on the SUPRVOOC S power management chip, it can intelligently identify the phone’s sleep state and manage the power efficiently. Coupled with the 5500mAh large battery and the excellent battery performance of the third-generation Snapdragon 7+, the OnePlus Ace 3V can easily last a day with moderate usage. You can definitely trust its battery life!

The First AI Phone for Young People?

In the realm of AI phones, OPPO is undoubtedly one of the most advertised domestic phone manufacturers leading the way. The OnePlus Ace 3V runs on ColorOS 14 based on Android 14 and brings various AIGC features based on AndesGPT, allowing you to experience the charm of AI phones.

For example, the AI eraser function found on the OPPO Find X6 flagship phone has also made its way to the OnePlus Ace 3V. If you enjoy photography, this feature can truly save many otherwise unusable photos.

When taking photos, it’s often challenging to avoid cluttered backgrounds with people and objects. This feature easily eliminates distracting elements from the frame and seamlessly fills in the removed areas with appropriate content. Most of the time, it delivers impressive results. However, using the AI eraser feature means that photos in the gallery won’t support ProXDR display, so that’s something to keep in mind.

Additionally, the OnePlus Ace 3V supports features like image cut-out by long-pressing in the gallery, content recognition with one click, and quick information transfer between different applications through the relay station feature. Moreover, it supports functions like WeChat/QQ call recording, making it more convenient to use.

Furthermore, the OnePlus Ace 3V introduces the new Xiao Bu AI assistant, which stands out by not only supporting intelligent Q&A, document summarization, and generating social media content but also incorporating learning and job-seeking functionalities. For instance, it offers simulated one-on-one English tutoring or mock one-on-one interview practice sessions.

AI phones are the future, and many phone manufacturers are striving to incorporate AI capabilities into phones to bring a better user experience. OPPO has been a pioneer in bringing AI to mid-range phones, advancing its popularity. It can be said that the excellent AI performance of the OnePlus Ace 3V in the software system is no less impressive than its hardware.

Summary: Outstanding in Both Hardware and Software

The OnePlus Ace 3V is truly an outstanding mid-range phone in terms of both hardware and software. With features like the third-generation Snapdragon 7+, a 5500mAh large battery, it meets the performance and battery life expectations of the majority of users. On the software side, having ColorOS 14 with AndesGPT brings many practical AI features, showing users a glimpse of the future of AI phones.

In the mid-range smartphone market of 2024, the OnePlus Ace 3V sets a benchmark for future models. If you are looking for a competitively priced phone with excellent hardware and software in the 2000 yuan range, it is definitely worth considering.
