Huawei P70 Ready for Launch! Redmi’s Turbo: Mid-Range Powerhouse!

Today, the general manager of the Redmi brand, Wang Teng, announced that the Redmi Turbo 3 is set to officially launch this month.

Wang Teng mentioned that the Redmi Turbo 3 marks the beginning of a new decade for Redmi, continuing their mission of challenging and upgrading the norm. Redmi will persist in providing the best value for money and high-quality products, promoting the development of domestic supply chains, striving towards the high-end market, with the ambition of becoming the preferred technology brand for the new generation.

In line with their plan for the next decade, Redmi has developed a new product matrix:

  • K Series: Positioned as the tech performance flagship, evolving comprehensively towards high-end flagships.
  • Turbo Series: Targeting the new generation with flagship performance, reshaping the mid-range performance landscape.
  • Note Series: Setting the standard for mid-range experiences, pushing flagship experiences to widespread adoption.
  • Digital Series: Positioned as high-quality entry-level devices, raising the baseline for industry experience.

Wang Teng emphasized that performance is the foundation of all experiences and has always been the most intense demand among young users. The new performance series, codenamed “Turbo” or “Small Whirlwind”, aims to bring flagship performance to the masses and redefine mid-range performance. This is their first mission in the new decade.

Over the past two years, after exploring two generations of performance products with the Note 11T Pro and Note 12 Turbo, the new series’ first product, named “Turbo 3”, will be equipped with the new Snapdragon 8 series flagship chip, positioning it as a vanguard in mid-range performance.

The Turbo 3 will be among the first to feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen3 platform, utilizing TSMC’s 4nm process.

The chip’s CPU maintains the architecture seen in the Snapdragon 8 Gen3, with 1 super core at up to 3.0GHz, 4 performance cores at up to 2.8GHz, and 3 efficiency cores at up to 2.0GHz.

In terms of GPU, the Snapdragon 8s Gen3 equips the Qualcomm Adreno GPU, following the same architecture as the Snapdragon 8 Gen2. This GPU showcases exceptional performance, offering superb gaming experience and energy efficiency for users.

With Redmi’s leadership transition, it’s natural to expect some fresh changes. Last year, the exceptional value for money offered by the Redmi Note 12T exceeded the entire Redmi Note series standard. It makes perfect sense to dedicate a series to it. The only question is with the new Turbo 3 featuring the high-performance Qualcomm Snapdragon 8sgen3, which has already been used in the Xiaomi civi 4 Pro, performing on par with last year’s flagship Snapdragon 8gen2. Considering the Xiaomi civi 4 Pro’s starting price of 2999 Yuan, will the pricing for the Redmi Turbo 3 also see a significant increase? However, as the first product of the new series, a satisfying price for Redmi fans is anticipated! So, stay tuned!

Media reports indicate a delay in the launch of the Apple iPad Pro 2024 to May due to a shortage of OLED panels.

The iPad Pro 2024 will come in two sizes, 11 inches and 13 inches, with the 11-inch OLED panels supplied by Samsung and the 13-inch versions by LG Display.

The report suggests that the low yield rates of Samsung’s 11-inch OLED panels are the main reason for the postponement. To address this, Apple has shifted some of the 11-inch orders to LG Display.

Following adjustments and quality testing by Apple, LG Display’s 11-inch OLED panels have met the necessary standards. Post-adjustment, around 60% of the OLED orders for the iPad Pro 2024 will be supplied by LG Display.

Notably, the iPad Pro 2024 features dual-tandem OLED panels. This screen structure, with two emission layers, allows for a brightness up to twice that of a single-layer OLED panel and a lifespan four times longer.

Apple has abandoned the Mini LED version of the iPad Pro, which it had been promoting for several years, due to cost and future prospects, only to encounter production capacity issues with the OLED panel. Fortunately, given the high price of the iPad Pro series, its share in the overall tablet market is not significant, so this delay is unlikely to impact iPad’s overall market share.

This week, China Mobile announced the official commercial launch of 5G-Advanced (5.5G), covering 100 cities.

China Mobile showcased faster 5.5G test speeds, with a downlink of 5132.34Mbps, uplink of 163.07Mbps, and a latency as low as 19ms, ten times faster than 5G.

China Mobile plans to initiate the world’s largest 5G-A commercial network deployment in 300 cities by the end of the year and launch over 20 5.5G terminals.

Currently, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen3 and MediaTek Dimensity 9400 terminals have undergone 5.5G network testing, with updates expected in April to welcome the era of 5.5G comprehensively.

5.5G (5G-A) represents a critical step in the evolution from 5G to 6G, offering higher speeds, greater connectivity, and lower latency.

The Huawei P70 series (model number ADY-AL10) has received network approval, bringing it one step closer to official release.

Network information indicates that the Huawei P70 series supports Beidou short message functionality.

Beidou’s short message communication utilizes bidirectional communication technology to ensure reliable and stable communication. It also provides high-precision positioning services, aiding outdoor users in quickly and accurately determining their location, and enabling location-based short messaging communication.

Beidou’s short messaging service is widely applied in outdoor exploration, fisheries, agriculture, disaster relief, and other fields, meeting the needs of various users.

Moreover, the entire Huawei P70 series will be equipped with the Kirin 9000S chip, marking Huawei’s return to the Kirin 5G platform since the P40 series and representing the most powerful Kirin flagship to date.

In terms of imaging, the standard version of the Huawei P70 series will use the OV50H main camera, while the Art version will use the Sony IMX989 main camera, both supporting variable aperture and OIS optical stabilization.

It’s reported that the P70 series will replicate the Mate 60 series’ successful approach, selling directly online and offline without a launch event.

The Huawei P70 series is all set for launch, potentially going on sale at any moment, following the precedent set by the Huawei Mate60 series with early sales before an official announcement. If you’re planning to purchase a new device soon, be sure to keep an eye on Huawei’s official website for updates!
