According to the latest news, the upcoming next-generation iPad Pro from Apple will feature an OLED display for the first time. This information has been confirmed through the first beta testing code of iPadOS 17.5. The code reveals details of four unreleased iPad models, including two screen sizes of 11 inches and 12.9 inches, supporting both Wi-Fi and cellular network connections.

These iPad models are speculated to be the next generation iPad Pro, equipped with OLED displays, hinting at potential differences in suppliers for different screen sizes. A previous report from the display analysis firm DSCC also mentioned that due to production issues with the new display, there might be delays in the release of the new iPads.

Simultaneously, the highly anticipated Apple Pencil is also set for an upgrade. Earlier this month, a new gesture for the Apple Pencil—squeeze—was discovered in the iPadOS 17.5 beta testing code. Now, more evidence points towards the imminent release of the new generation Apple Pencil.

In addition to the “squeeze” gesture, other gestures like “long squeeze” and “double squeeze” were found in the beta testing code. As the current Apple Pencil 2 only supports double-tapping and lacks pressure sensitivity, these new gestures are speculated to be designed for the upcoming new Apple Pencil to be released.

Furthermore, hints in the iPadOS 17.4 testing code suggest that the new Apple Pencil will support a “locate” feature.

Reportedly, Apple plans to launch the new iPad Pro, the redesigned iPad Air, Magic Keyboard, and Apple Pencil 3 in the second week of May. This new lineup of iPad products is highly anticipated and poised to become one of Apple’s latest masterpieces in the field of mobile devices.
