According to Bloomberg, on April 10th, during the 2024 fiscal year in India, Apple has assembled iPhones worth $14 billion in the country.
Sources reveal that currently, Apple’s iPhone production in India accounts for approximately one-seventh of its global output.
It’s noteworthy that, compared to last year’s data, in the past year, iPhone production in India has doubled. In the fiscal year 2023, Apple assembled over $7 billion worth of iPhones in India, representing nearly 7% of its total production.
Now, the question arises: Who is mainly responsible for producing so many iPhones in India?
According to insiders, in the fiscal year ending March 2024, Foxconn Group assembled around 67% of iPhones produced in India, while Wistron accounted for about 17%. The remaining portion is produced by the former Wistron factory, which has been acquired by Tata Group in India.
Furthermore, the aforementioned report also analyzes and comments that Apple’s growth in India reflects the country’s emergence as a manufacturing hub, with companies like Tesla, Cisco, and Google also aiming to produce hardware in India.
