Not long ago, vivo just released its thin and foldable flagship, the vivo X Fold3 series. Within the first minute of its launch, it amassed a staggering sales revenue of 5.8 billion, marking an eightfold increase compared to the previous generation.
Recently, vivo has several new models lined up for release, including the vivo X100s, vivo X100 Ultra, and Z9 Turbo smartphones.
The iQOO Z9 Turbo has already started its pre-launch hype, with the actual device being exposed. Its official release date is set for April 24th.
Vivo made its debut in the online market with the Z1, which was a rare “dark horse” in the smartphone market at the time. Subsequently, the Z3, released later, also became a hit product.
With two consecutive popular products, vivo established its online iQOO brand. The Z series became the mid-range product line of iQOO. However, the Z series products are diverse, ranging from online performance flagships to large-battery smartphones emphasizing endurance, such as the previous generation Z8 and Z8x. The Z8 features the Dimensity 8200 chipset, scoring over 980,000 points in Antutu Benchmark, making it a standard performance flagship in the thousand-yuan range. The Z8x, on the other hand, boasts a 6000mAh ultra-large battery and is equipped with a low-power Snapdragon 6Gen1 processor, providing exceptionally long endurance. It is a thousand-yuan smartphone with endurance as its selling point.
This year’s updated Z9 series also includes two models, focusing on performance and long endurance. Surprisingly, there’s an addition of the Z9 Turbo, which is powered by the Snapdragon 8sGen3.
In order to compete with MediaTek, Qualcomm launched two mid-range chips, the Snapdragon 8sGen3 and the Snapdragon 7+Gen3. The main competitor of the Snapdragon 8sGen3 is the MediaTek Dimensity 8300. However, until now, the only phone equipped with the Dimensity 8300 is the Redmi K70E, and it falls short in all aspects compared to the OnePlus Ace3V, which is powered by the Snapdragon 7+Gen3, let alone the higher-positioned Snapdragon 8sGen3.
The Antutu Benchmark score of the Snapdragon 8sGen3 is around 1.46 million, while the official score of the Redmi Turbo3 can reach over 1.75 million. The Antutu Benchmark score of the Z9 Turbo is over 1.76 million, surpassing the Redmi Turbo3 by an additional ten thousand points.
In addition to performance, the iQOO Z9 Turbo boasts three major selling points: gaming screen, dual cores, and Blue Sea large battery.
The screen supports a 144Hz esports refresh rate AMOLED flexible straight screen, with a custom 6.78-inch 1.5K ultra-clear resolution screen, VM7 luminous material, supporting 2160Hz high-frequency PWM dimming, and DC dimming.
In terms of performance and gaming optimization, in addition to being equipped with the Snapdragon 8sGen3, it also features a special “dedicated graphics chip Turbo,” offering a powerful combination that can smoothly run mainstream hit mobile games at high frame rates.
The Z9 Turbo features a built-in 6K square millimeter VC liquid-cooled heat dissipation plate, with an ultra-large coverage area, providing better heat dissipation for continuous cool operation without any lag.
Regarding endurance, the Z9 Turbo is equipped with a 6000mAh Blue Sea battery, the largest battery capacity seen on vivo phones.
The Blue Sea battery is actually a semi-solid-state battery, which, under the same volume, offers a larger battery capacity. A larger battery capacity means a smaller volume. In other words, the volume of the 6000mAh Blue Sea battery is extremely small, and the thickness of the Z9 Turbo is only 7.98mm, making it a true thin and light flagship.
The Z9 Turbo supports 80W wired fast charging.
In terms of imaging, it features a 16-megapixel front camera and a 50-megapixel main camera with OIS optical stabilization.
The price of the 12GB+256GB version is expected to be around 1999 yuan.
The first release price of the 12GB+256GB version of the iQOO Neo9 is 2299 yuan. It is impossible for the iQOO Z9 Turbo to surpass the iQOO Neo9, leaving a price gap of 300 yuan that everyone can accept.
Moreover, if we include the iQOO Z9 Turbo, there are a total of five phones equipped with the Snapdragon 8sGen3 and Snapdragon 7+Gen3: realme GT Neo6 SE, OnePlus Ace3V, Redmi Turbo3, Xiaomi CIVI4 Pro, and iQOO Z9 Turbo.
