Once upon a time, there was a white RTX 3060 graphics card worth 1000 yuan right in front of me, but I failed to appreciate it. As a result, it soared to 2000 yuan, leaving me stunned, watching its departing figure. Eagerly anticipating the arrival of the RTX 40 series graphics cards, I was soon confronted by the harsh reality – the 40 series is pricier, and the 30 series continues to maintain its high prices.

It wasn’t until January this year at the CES electronics exhibition, where NVIDIA unveiled the GeForce RTX 40 SUPER desktop graphics cards with high-performance AI capabilities, including RTX 4080 SUPER, RTX 4070Ti SUPER, RTX 4070 SUPER. Users found them impressive – improved performance, lowered prices – with many saying this is how the 40 series graphics cards should have been from the beginning, showing precise craftsmanship.

I recently built several white-themed ocean-view housing case computers – stunning, yet some are just inclined towards Nvidia cards. Fueled by the quest for performance, AI fascination, and the necessity of a white-themed ocean-view housing computer, I got my hands on the all-white RTX 4070 SUPER graphics card, the Gigabyte RTX 4070 SUPER AERO OC 12G Snow Eagle.

This graphics card boasts a serene and peaceful all-white design, including the fan blades, exuding a quiet and harmonious vibe. The matte white finish, coupled with a diagonal pattern, presents a sleek and elegant look. The Gigabyte RTX 4070 SUPER Snow Eagle card is equipped with Gigabyte’s classic “Windforce” cooling system. It comprises three 90mm airflow-optimized fans, with adjacent fans spinning in opposite directions to reduce turbulence and increase pressure. The fan blades feature airflow diversion designs, directing airflow smoothly through 3D contoured surfaces.

Utilizing nano-graphene lubricant for the fans, this card ensures longevity akin to ball-bearing fans, along with quieter operation. The fans support 3D active fan technology, halting fan spin when GPU temperatures are low or during lighter workloads, delivering a noise-free user experience.

Let’s run 3DMARK for a stress test. It scores 99.1, which is quite good considering it’s a new card.

In the SPEED WAY test, it achieves a graphics score of 5311.

In TIME SPY EXTREME, it achieves a total score of 10592, with a graphics score of 10331 and a CPU score of 12366.

In the TIME SPY test, it scores a total of 21797, with a graphics score of 21561 and a CPU score of 23244.

In the FIRE STRIKE ULTRA test, the overall score is 12,773, with a graphics score of 12,482, a physics score of 55,460, and a combined score of 6,662.

In the FIRE STRIKE EXTREME test, the total score is 24,395, with a graphics score of 24,644, a physics score of 54,381, and a combined score of 12,820.

In the regular FIRE STRIKE test, the total score is 40,166, with a graphics score of 48,616, a physics score of 53,722, and a combined score of 14,976.

The DirectX ray tracing score is 62.44 frames.

For the Port Royal ray tracing score, it’s 13,117. Nvidia’s ray tracing performance is quite impressive. Now, let’s take a look at the performance of Nvidia’s Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS).

What is DLSS? According to online sources, DLSS stands for Deep Learning Super Sampling. Its role is to enhance display resolution by lowering the in-game rendering resolution, using artificial intelligence algorithms and AI acceleration hardware units (Tensor Cores) to upscale the output, thus improving display resolution. For example, rendering at 1080p but outputting at 4K (2160p) using AI algorithms and Tensor Core calculations, thereby boosting frame rates.

By utilizing DLSS technology, RTX graphics card users can enjoy ray tracing and ultra-high resolutions. This technology generates image quality comparable to native resolution through advanced AI rendering, sometimes even surpassing it. With its advanced temporal feedback techniques, it enhances image details and stability between frames.

Running the 3DMARK DLSS tests, starting with DLSS3 test. The results show that with DLSS turned off, the frame rate is 28.74 FPS. However, once DLSS3 is enabled, the frame rate can skyrocket to 100.24 FPS.

Moving on to the DLSS2 test, without DLSS, the frame rate is 28.37 FPS, but upon activation, the frame rate jumps to 74.99 FPS, marking a significant improvement.

Now, let’s assess the actual in-game effects. Starting with Cyberpunk 2077, using the system’s default settings, outputting at 4K resolution. We begin by deactivating DLSS.

With preset texture quality set to high and ray tracing enabled at ultra, the frame rate ends up at 17.85 FPS.

After enabling DLSS, the FPS increases to 81.28, more than tripled, presenting a remarkable enhancement.

Next, testing Horizon 5. Running at default ultra-high quality, 4K resolution, displaying CPU simulation at 369.4, CPU rendering at 201.3, GPU at 105.6, achieving a frame rate of 101.

Upon activating DLSS and retesting, the CPU simulation climbs to 391.5, CPU rendering to 243.8, GPU to 109.6, resulting in a frame rate of 131.

To sum up, the Gigabyte RTX 4070 SUPER Snow Eagle graphics card meets the demands of playing AAA games at 4K resolution. With the support of DLSS, its performance is enhanced, providing excellent ray tracing effects. Its all-white appearance complements a white-themed computer wonderfully, visually appealing. Additionally, featuring dual BIOS switches, ARGB lighting effects, it caters well to enthusiasts’ needs, making it a solid choice.
