According to leaks from the Digital Chat Station, the main camera of the Huawei Mate 70 series will all feature Sony sensors. The standard version will come equipped with the OV50H main camera, while the high-end version will sport the OV50K main camera.

OV50K is a brand-new sensor from Sony for commercial use this year, boasting a large 1/1.3-inch sensor. Its standout feature is its support for LOFIC technology.

LOFIC technology, short for Lateral Overflow Integration Capacitor, is designed to address oversaturation issues by placing high-density capacitors next to each photodiode on the smartphone sensor to collect overflowing photogenerated electrons.

The OV50K achieves an unprecedented dynamic range of 15EV, surpassing its competitor, the Sony LTY900, which offers 14EV. A higher dynamic range enables better capture and retention of details in both highlight and shadow areas, mitigating overexposure or underexposure issues, rendering brighter areas brighter and darker areas clearer, closely mimicking the human eye’s perception.

Furthermore, the Mate 70 series will debut the all-new Kirin 5G chipset for the first time and is set to be released in the latter half of this year. This series will compete with the iPhone 16 series, which is scheduled for release around the same time.
