vivo to launch BlueImage brand with X100 Ultra debut

In recent years, some smartphone manufacturers have launched their own imaging brands to enhance the imaging capabilities of their products. For example, Huawei has XMAGE. Following suit, vivo is also going to introduce its own imaging brand.

According to Interface News, Vivo is reportedly planning to develop its imaging brand called BlueImage, which will debut with the vivo X100 Ultra. It is known that in November 2023, Vivo applied for the trademark of BlueImage, covering various imaging-related projects such as graphics processors, optical lenses, sensors, and more.

Information online indicates that the main camera of the vivo X100 Ultra will feature a 50-megapixel Sony LYT900 sensor with a 1-inch large sensor size. Compared to the IMX989, it shows a significant 43% decrease in power consumption, expanding the dynamic range to 14EV, allowing for capturing more delicate light and shadow details. In terms of performance, the vivo X100 Ultra will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen3 mobile platform, supporting dual-mode 5G communication.
