HMD Global Teases Nokia Fans with the Prospect of More Smartphones
On February 5, IT Home reported that HMD Global had released several teaser videos hinting at moving away from the “Nokia” brand to introduce their own branded phones. This move had drawn criticism from many media outlets and Nokia enthusiasts.
Yesterday, the company posted a new video on YouTube, claiming to be the manufacturer of “Nokia-branded smartphones” and suggesting in the description that HMD Global is likely to continue launching Nokia-branded smartphones.
IT Home learned from the video released by HMD Global that the company emphasizes that its Nokia-branded smartphones are characterized by three main features: “drop resistance,” “easy to repair,” and “durability.” They also stated that users can purchase “Nokia-branded phones” on the official HMD website.
It is currently uncertain whether HMD Global will indeed continue to launch more “Nokia” branded smartphones. What is known is that the company will unveil several of its own branded smartphones at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona from February 26 to 29, 2024. Among them, the flagship model will feature a 108-megapixel OIS camera.
