The forthcoming iQOO Z9 series smartphone is set to launch overseas on March 12th, featuring a 1.5K OLED display and Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen3 processor.

As per the official teaser released today, the iQOO Z9 will be equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 chipset for the global market. It will boast a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2800×1260, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 1800 nits, indicating some differences between the domestic and international versions.

On the other hand, the upcoming iQOO Neo9 series smartphone will introduce a budget-friendly combination of a 1.5K OLED display and a Snapdragon 8 Gen3 processor, along with a large battery.

According to previous leaks, Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8S Gen3 processor, codenamed SM8635, is a 5G chip offering flagship-level performance.

The Snapdragon 8S Gen3 shares the same architecture as the Snapdragon 8 Gen3 and is built on a 4nm process by TSMC. Its overall performance falls between the Snapdragon 8 Gen2 and Gen3 variants, with an AnTuTu score exceeding 1.7 million.

Additionally, compared to the 3.3GHz CPU frequency of the Snapdragon 8 Gen3, the CPU frequency of the Snapdragon 8S Gen3 is slightly reduced, theoretically leading to better power efficiency.
