Apple Releases iOS 17.4 with Focus on Battery Life Improvement
Apple released the official version of iOS 17.4 earlier this month, which, despite introducing some new features, still drew the most attention from users regarding battery life concerns.
Recently, some overseas bloggers conducted battery life tests on several iPhone models after upgrading to iOS 17.4. The results varied: some models showed a decrease in battery performance, while others demonstrated improvements. The tested models included iPhone SE2, iPhone XR, iPhone 11, iPhone 12, iPhone 13, and iPhone 15.
To minimize errors, all above-mentioned models were updated to iOS 17.4, with screen brightness set uniformly at 25%, automatic brightness adjustment turned off, background apps cleared, volume levels set equally, and fully charged batteries.
According to the test data, the battery life of iPhone 13 lasted for 5 hours and 48 minutes, a decrease of 55 minutes compared to its predecessor. As for the iPhone 15, it reached a battery life of 10 hours and 47 minutes. Since the iPhone 15 participated in the battery test for the first time, there are no comparison data available. However, there seems to be a slight decline in battery performance compared to previous models.
Of course, these are just test results, and users should consider them as reference points. Actual experiences may vary, so it’s best to rely on personal usage for accurate assessments.
