First Mind Tweet on X by BMI User Musk Shares

The first chip-implanted subject of Neuralink, a brain-machine interface company under Musk’s helm, Nolan Abbot, successfully used mind control to post his first message on the X platform. In his post, he humorously stated, “Twitter banned me because they thought I was a robot, but on the X platform, I have regained myself with Elon Musk.” This news was retweeted by Musk, with a caption saying, “This is the first post sent out through the Neuralink mind sensing device!” It is reported that Nolan Abbot is a quadriplegic patient who has successfully used the brain-machine interface to type and play games through his thoughts. Previously, Neuralink also released a video showing him playing chess using his mind.

Founded in 2016, Neuralink is dedicated to establishing a communication channel between the human brain and external devices. Specifically, the company plans to implant ultra-fine wires in the brain and connect them to a custom-designed chip. This chip contains electrodes that can read information from groups of neurons. Musk has stated that Neuralink’s short-term goal is to help quadriplegic patients achieve thought typing and potentially enable them to walk and restore vision for the blind in the future. In the long run, they aim to create a “symbiosis between humans and machines.”
