MediaTek Dimensity 9400 to Outdo Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 with 3nm Tech

[Pacific Tech News] Recently, MediaTek’s chairman, Ming Tsai, and CEO, Rick Tsai, attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the Hsinchu High-Speed Rail Office Building. During the ceremony, Rick Tsai expressed that AI smartphones are the future trend, and MediaTek is fully aware of this. They plan to release the Dimensity 9400 in the fourth quarter of this year, which will surpass the 9300 by a large margin.

Tsai emphasized MediaTek’s confidence in the trend of AI smartphones during the ceremony, stating that it will be a major trend in the future. He also mentioned that the Dimensity 9300, with its current research and development achievements, has received numerous accolades. The planned release of the Dimensity 9400 in the fourth quarter of this year will be a significant improvement over the 9300.

It is worth noting that the Dimensity 9400 will adopt TSMC’s 3nm process. In a departure from Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen4’s in-house architecture, MediaTek will continue to use the upgraded Arm CPU architecture, with the large core being upgraded from the original Cortex-X4 to Cortex-X5.

According to related leaks, the upcoming Dimensity 9400 will feature an all-large-core architecture, possibly surpassing the Snapdragon 8 Gen4 in all aspects, making it the most powerful smartphone chip released by MediaTek this year.
