2012 Macbook Pro Discontinued Globally

According to the latest reports, Apple has recently updated the list of globally discontinued products, adding the 13-inch MacBook Pro (2012) to the lineup. This 13-inch MacBook Pro was released in June 2012 and continued to be sold until October 2016 as a lower-priced option alongside the thinner 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display.

According to Apple’s regulations, discontinued products refer to those that have been out of production for more than 7 years since the day Apple ceased sales. While in most regions, such older products were not eligible for repair services in the past, Apple Stores and authorized service providers now offer up to seven years of repair services for such devices, depending on the availability of parts.

Furthermore, in terms of software, Apple abandoned support for the mid-2012 model of the 13-inch MacBook Pro and macOS Big Sur last year. This move further demonstrates the growing demand for newer products in the market, while also indicating Apple’s strategy of continuously developing and upgrading its product line to meet market demands.
