Huawei and Honor Recruit Beta Testers for HarmonyOS 4 Update on 5-Year-Old Models
Last year, the official announcement was made regarding the recruitment for the HarmonyOS 4 pollen Beta version update on five-year-old models including Huawei P30, Mate20, and Honor V20 series. Subsequently, Huawei pushed the HarmonyOS 4 pollen Beta version update to users of these five-year-old models who applied for the update, introducing features like the live window. Recently, Huawei’s official Weibo account, @我为华为, revealed the latest recruitment plan for HarmonyOS 4. The recruitment is now open for 12 models including Huawei P30, Mate20, and Honor V20 series for HarmonyOS 4 public beta testing. This means that users of foldable models who previously did not pass the application or missed the sign-up period can now experience the smoothness and new features of HarmonyOS 4.
Recently, @我为华为 announced the latest HarmonyOS system update stating, “At the beginning of the new year, #HarmonyOS#4 upgrade makes new progress! 12 phones including P30, Mate 20 are now open for HarmonyOS 4 public beta testing. Interested friends, please stay tuned and participate promptly.” According to the information displayed on the official poster, models participating in the beta testing include Huawei P30, P30 Pro, Mate20 Pro, Mate20 RS Porsche Design, nova 5 Pro, Mate20, Mate20 X, Mate20 X 5G, as well as Honor 20, Honor 20 Pro, Honor V20, and Honor Magic 2.
The users of these phones can apply for updates by using the “Upgrade Early” feature on the “My Huawei” or “Service” App homepages to experience the new features of HarmonyOS 4 during the public beta testing period. It’s worth noting that Huawei has also announced the start of the official version upgrade to HarmonyOS 4 for smartwatch devices like HUAWEI WATCH 3, HUAWEI WATCH 3 Pro, HUAWEI WATCH 3 Pro new, HUAWEI WATCH GT 3 Pro (46mm), and HUAWEI WATCH GT 3 Porsche Design.
Moreover, at the end of the stylish launch event of the new generation foldable phone Huawei Pocket 2 yesterday afternoon (February 22), Huawei’s Executive Director, CEO of Terminal BG, and Chairman of Intelligent Car Solutions BU, announced by @余承东 that the HarmonyOS system will receive a major version update this autumn, introducing native HarmonyOS applications. Furthermore, @余承东 emphasized that HarmonyOS system will stay updated with the next major version bringing significant upgrades and improvements. According to current information, this major version update is likely the long-rumored HarmonyOS Star River Edition, aiming to offer 6 ultimate native experiences including native delicacy, native applications, native smoothness, native security, native intelligence, and native interconnectivity.
