Qualcomm to Release Snapdragon 7+ Gen3 and Snapdragon 8S Gen3 in March
Fast Technology reported on February 23rd that according to the tech blogger Digital Chat Station, Qualcomm is set to launch the Snapdragon 7+ Gen3 (codenamed SM7675) and the Snapdragon 8S Gen3 (codenamed SM8635) in March, with related devices gradually making their appearances during the same period.
The Snapdragon 8S Gen3, closely related to the Snapdragon 8 Gen3, is composed of a CPU featuring 1×3.01GHz X4+4×2.61GHz A720+3×1.84GHz A520, and a GPU of Adreno 735.
In comparison to the 3.3GHz CPU frequency of the Snapdragon 8 Gen3, the Snapdragon 8S Gen3 operates at a slightly lower frequency, theoretically resulting in better power efficiency.
Furthermore, the Snapdragon 8S Gen3 is equipped with one less performance core of A720 compared to the Snapdragon 8 Gen3, but includes an additional power-efficient core of A520.
Moreover, the Snapdragon 8S Gen3, like the Snapdragon 8 Gen3, is built on the TSMC 4nm process technology, positioning itself in terms of performance between the Snapdragon 8 Gen2 and the Snapdragon 8 Gen3.
Given its positioning, the price of Snapdragon 8S Gen3 smartphones is expected to be above 3000 yuan, fitting into the flagship category.
It is worth noting that Digital Chat Station revealed that almost all of the top 5 manufacturers will be adopting this chip.
