Global Smartphone Market Report Q4 2023
On February 28th, Fast Technology reported that Counterpoint Research, a market research firm, released the Global Smartphone Infographic for the fourth quarter of 2023. According to the report, Xiaomi saw a remarkable year-on-year growth of 23% in shipments, securing the top spot among domestic smartphone brands and ranking third globally.
Overall, in the fourth quarter of 2023, the global smartphone market witnessed a 7% year-on-year increase and an 8% quarter-on-quarter growth, reaching a total of 323.2 million units.
Apple experienced a 2% year-on-year growth, overtaking Samsung to become the top seller in Q4 2023.
On the other hand, Samsung faced a 9% year-on-year decrease in shipments, losing to Apple in the high-end market, Xiaomi in the mid-range market, and Transsion in the entry-level market.
Despite these challenges, Samsung retained its position as a leading global smartphone manufacturer, holding a 16% market share and ranking second globally.
Among the top five smartphone brands, Xiaomi exhibited the fastest growth in Q4 2023, with a staggering 23% year-on-year increase, totaling 40.7 million units and capturing a 13% market share, securing the third position.
Vivo and OPPO followed in fourth and fifth place respectively, both holding a 7% market share.
Honor achieved a significant double-digit growth of 27%, while Huawei experienced triple-digit growth, standing out as the only top 10 manufacturer to achieve triple-digit growth.
