It is well known that as rumors surrounding the Huawei P70 series continue to heat up online, recent reports have emerged citing information from internal sources at Huawei to debunk the rumors. Whether it will be launched in March or April, the official release date has never been disclosed publicly. This has somewhat dampened the leaks regarding the Huawei P70 series. Recently, some netizens have once again revealed partial configuration information of this series of new devices, claiming that along with these new devices, there will also be new versions of the Mate M5, earphones, tablets, routers, and other products.
Although Huawei insiders have already come out to debunk the rumors, some netizens have re-ignited speculation that the Huawei P70 series may be released next month. Additionally, the leaks suggest that the launch event of the Huawei P70 series will also include the Mate M5 update, new earphones, new tablets, and new routers.
Furthermore, digital blogger @数码闲聊站 has revealed information indicating, “From upstream material procurement, the new flagship’s cup sizes range from 6.58± for medium cups to 6.9± for large cups, with all models featuring a 1.5K new substrate centered single-hole eye protection screen. Medium and large cups will use OV50H sensors, while the super large cup will feature the irregular polygonal IMX989 sensor.” In other words, the Huawei P70 series is expected to comprise at least three models: Huawei P70, Huawei P70 Pro, and Huawei P70 Art.
Previously, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo stated that the Huawei P70 series is a significant milestone for Huawei, with sales performance expected to surpass that of the Huawei P60. According to supply chain sources referenced in previous leaks, it seems that the official production targets for this series have been increased by 50%. Moreover, it is rumored that the entire Huawei P70 series will be equipped with Kirin 5G processors. As for the specific model numbers, it will be necessary to wait for the official announcement. In terms of imaging capabilities, it seems that all models in this series will still feature a 50-megapixel main camera.
Additionally, according to information from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Huawei is set to launch an updated high-performance sports version of the Mate M5 in 2024, catering to users’ demands for improved vehicle performance and driving control. The upcoming new version of the Mate M5 sports edition is expected to have significant differences in both appearance and performance compared to the standard version.
It is reported that changes in external design details will include alterations in areas such as wheel rims, front bumpers, logos, rear emblems, window frame decorations, and grille trims, along with exclusive emblems and insignias. Redesigned elements like the window frame decorations and front grille trim will give the entire vehicle a more distinctive look. Furthermore, the exterior changes related to intelligent driving, including side cameras, aim to enhance the vehicle’s driving assistance and safety features.
The redesigned front bumper offers improved aerodynamic performance, adding a more distinctive and sporty character to the vehicle, emphasizing its dynamic attributes. Moreover, prior to this, there was information revealed on social media stating that Wang Yanmin, President of the Huawei Terminal BG Smart Car Business Unit, disclosed that the updated Mate series would be showcased at the Beijing Auto Show in April. However, the extent of the updates is still uncertain, with a preference towards annual revisions focusing on details—consistent with the information from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
