Lei Jun: All Xiaomi Executives Participated in SU7 Road Test
[Dahe Financial News] On March 23 at noon, Lei Jun announced on social media that when it comes to the quality of a car and the reliability of intelligent driving, high-level executives should try it out themselves first! All Xiaomi executives participated in the road test of the Xiaomi SU7, covering a total distance of over 100,000 kilometers.
Lei Jun himself took part in the test over ten times, covering more than 3,000 kilometers. The longest test drive was on January 5 this year, from Beijing to Shanghai, a total distance of 1,276 kilometers. He drove alone, using NOA (Navigation on Autopilot) on highways throughout the journey. Including charging and rest stops, the total duration was over 15 hours. This particular test posed a significant challenge for the battery life, as it was a four-wheel-drive vehicle driving in winter conditions on highways with minimal traffic (most of the time at speeds exceeding 100 km/h). Two charging stops were made along the way, and the overall experience was quite satisfactory.
The real-world road test of the Xiaomi SU7 involved 576 prototype vehicles traveling in 300 cities nationwide, experiencing extreme temperatures from -40°C in Heihe to 60°C in Turpan, spanning a temperature difference of 100°C. The tests even extended to the plateau of Kunlun Mountain at an altitude of 4,768 meters. The scale of the testing was extensive, with many people in various cities witnessing Xiaomi’s fleet of vehicles.
After such rigorous testing, the Xiaomi SU7 is now ready and will be officially launched next Thursday.
