Upcoming Huawei P70 Series: Latest Updates and Rumors

It is widely known that after several digital bloggers disclosed that the Huawei P70 series release would be postponed to April, some internal sources from Huawei quickly denied the news. Subsequently, another digital blogger revealed that the Huawei Mate60 series had been discontinued to allocate resources and market space for the Huawei P70 series. Interestingly, this rumor was promptly debunked by internal sources from Huawei, stating that “the Huawei Mate 60 series is still in normal production and available for purchase by consumers.” Nevertheless, recent information from a supply chain company confirmed that mass supply to the high-end flagship phones of the Huawei P70 series has commenced, with expectations of a flagship launch in April.

Recently, various institutions cited information from Huawei’s supply chain companies, revealing details about the upcoming Huawei P70 series. According to information from Zhongzheng Jin nuzuo, Huawei’s supply chain companies have started supplying components in bulk to the high-end flagship phones of the Huawei P70 series, indicating the rapid approach of this new product to the market. A latest research report from China Merchants Securities stated that in the first quarter of this year, the parts industry chain of the Huawei P70 series has entered the stocking phase, with various parties intensively promoting related work to ensure a smooth release of the new product. All sources hinted at an anticipated April launch for this flagship series.

Furthermore, a research report from Minsheng Securities expressed great expectations for the release of the Huawei P70 series. Looking forward to April, the Huawei P70 series release is highly anticipated, with the potential to drive a new wave of opportunities in the mobile industry chain. A report from Debon Securities mentioned that the Huawei P70 series is expected to see significant improvements in product capabilities, urging attention to Huawei’s mobile industry chain companies and upgrades in areas such as camera modules and optical components. Industry insiders anticipate robust market demand for the P70 series, expecting an increase in the profit margin for suppliers to Huawei, which is a favorable development. It is widely believed that the P70 series will be launched as scheduled in April and become a hit product in the smartphone market for the first half of the year.

According to the leaked specifications and renders of the suspected Huawei P70 series circulating online, the series is expected to include at least three new models: P70, P70 Pro, and P70 Art (P70 Pro+). In terms of appearance, they all feature a triangular rear camera module design with a triple-camera setup. The main sensor for all models is rumored to be the HiSilicon OV50H, supporting 50MP and featuring a 1/1.3-inch sensor size with a pixel size of 1.2μm, providing an effective pixel size of 2.4μm in a 4-in-1 pixel binning mode. The ultra-large cup Deco is an irregular polygon, with the main sensor being a 1-inch Sony IMX989.

Additionally, the P70 Pro and Art versions are expected to focus on enhancing the telephoto experience, integrating Huawei’s XMAGE imaging capabilities. The Huawei P70 series is set to significantly enhance its imaging capabilities, placing it among the top tier of domestic smartphone cameras. Even the standard P70 version is expected to see a considerable improvement in imaging with the main sensor and periscopic telephoto lens. It is speculated that these new models will be equipped with a new Kirin 5G processor, offering performance superior to the Kirin 9000S in the Huawei Mate60 series. Satellite communication is expected to see an upgrade compared to the Huawei Mate60, with battery capacity likely around 5000mAh and the possibility of an 88W wired fast charging upgrade. However, for the final release date and specifications, official announcements should be awaited for confirmation.
