Windows 11 Update

According to the latest reports, Microsoft is gearing up to launch the RTM version of Windows 11 24H2. This indicates that they will provide updates to major original equipment manufacturers for testing on their new PCs. The recent Canary or Dev versions released in the past few weeks have mainly focused on bug fixes, signaling that the development of the Win11 24H2 update is in its final stages.

Moreover, Microsoft has begun pushing updates in the Dev channel to validate the service channel status for the Win11 24H2 version. Unlike the Win11 23H2 update based on the 22H2 version (codenamed Nickel), the Win11 24H2 version is built on a new platform codenamed Germanium.

Another noteworthy feature is that the features of Windows 11 24H2 will be rolled out in two phases. The first phase will introduce “foundation” updates, expected to be released in June alongside new PCs powered by the Snapdragon X Elite. Subsequently, the 24H2 update will be rolled out to existing Win11 PCs starting in September or October. Microsoft will also release another feature update for Snapdragon X Elite models and other PCs with AI capabilities to enable new AI functionalities.
