iPhone 16 Case Design Leak: Vertical Dual Cameras for 3D Video

[Pacific Tech News]

Recently, foreign media has revealed the design of the protective case for the iPhone 16. Judging from the position of the camera opening on the case, the iPhone 16 will feature a vertical dual-camera design. This is because the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus will support spatial video recording, which is a key reason for Apple’s adjustment of the camera position. The design style of the iPhone 16 is also similar to its predecessors.

In the previous generation, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus had cameras designed diagonally, hence not supporting spatial video recording. It is understood that when recording spatial videos with the iPhone, the main camera and ultra-wide-angle camera will work simultaneously. The image captured by the ultra-wide-angle camera will automatically adjust to match the size of the main camera. Once recording is completed, the system will merge the videos recorded by the two cameras into one file.

When viewing spatial videos on the iPhone, they will be displayed in the conventional two-dimensional video format. However, when viewed in Apple’s Vision Pro photo app, they will be presented in three dimensions, offering a more immersive visual experience.

As for the release date of the iPhone 16 series, following past practices, it is expected that Apple will launch it around September this year.
