iPhone 16 Case Leak: Vertical Dual-Cam, 3D Video Support

Pacific Tech News

Recently, foreign media exposed the protective case design of the iPhone 16. Judging from the position of the camera opening on the shell, the iPhone 16 adopts a vertical dual-camera design. This is because both the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus will support spatial video recording, which is an important reason for Apple to adjust the camera position. The design style of the iPhone 16 remains similar to its predecessors.

In the previous generation, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus had cameras designed diagonally, hence not supporting spatial video recording. It is understood that when recording spatial videos with the iPhone, the main camera and ultra-wide-angle camera will work simultaneously. The frame captured by the ultra-wide-angle camera will automatically adjust to match the size of the main camera. After recording, the system will merge the videos captured by the two cameras into one file.

When viewing spatial videos on the iPhone, they will be presented in the conventional two-dimensional video format. However, in Apple’s Vision Pro photo app, they will be displayed in 3D, offering a more stunning visual effect.

As for the release date of the iPhone 16 series, following past practices, it is expected that Apple will unveil it around September this year.
