On April 12th, Xiaomi’s CEO Lei Jun announced in a video that what was most unexpected about the launch of the Xiaomi SU7 was the significant appeal it had among female users. Lei Jun mentioned that almost 30% of the buyers of Xiaomi SU7 were women, and many of the orders were placed by individuals purchasing for their wives, girlfriends, sisters, or mothers.
“For the first time, a product has gained immense popularity among female users nationwide. They are captivated by the stylish, sun-proof, and storage-friendly features of Xiaomi cars,” Lei Jun stated. He further added in the video that after the official launch of Xiaomi SU7, many people were scrutinizing it closely using magnifying glasses or even microscopes to spot any potential issues.
Reflecting on the past fourteen to fifteen days, Lei Jun expressed that he had been quite anxious every day, but now he feels much more at ease and relaxed. This is because Xiaomi cars have undergone quality checks, user tests, and meticulous selection by millions of online users, gaining approval across all fronts. It is noteworthy that for the first time, a product has garnered such massive support from female users nationwide. Currently, approximately 30% of the buyers are women, and many orders are being placed by people buying for their wives, girlfriends, or sisters. Therefore, it is expected that female car owners might even reach 40% to 50% for Xiaomi SU7, marking a significant milestone for Xiaomi cars. Lei Jun mentioned in the video’s comment section that “the attractive design, sun-proof features, and storage options are particularly favored by female car owners, making it the first time in Xiaomi’s history to win over such a large female user base.”
It is reported that the total glass area of Xiaomi SU7 is 5.35 square meters, but there is no need to worry about excessive heat during the summer. The skyroof glass is double-layered with silver coating, the front windshield is triple-layered with silver coating, and the side windows have an optical coating that blocks ultraviolet and infrared rays. Specifically, the skyroof glass blocks 99.9% of ultraviolet rays and 99.1% of infrared rays, while the front windshield blocks 99.5% of ultraviolet rays and 97.6% of infrared rays. According to data released by Xiaomi, after being exposed to direct sunlight at 38℃ for 1.5 hours, the temperature inside Xiaomi SU7 is 59.5℃, while in the Tesla Model 3 Refresh version, it reaches 71.5℃, showing a 12℃ difference.
