Y.Chengdong: Pura70 is like P70. Stay tuned for good news.

Huawei officially announced on April 15th that the P series will be named the all-new Pura series. On April 16th, Huawei’s Yu Chengdong stated that Pura70 can be considered as P70, and there will be good news in a couple of days. This suggests that the Pura 70 series will be released this week.

Yu Chengdong's announcement

Previously, some netizens have indicated that certain Huawei offline stores have started accepting pre-orders, but the specific delivery information remains uncertain, with stores notifying customers upon the arrival of the new devices. We also visited some Huawei stores in Beijing, but likewise, we couldn’t confirm the arrival time of the new devices. Moreover, there were no sightings of the Pura 70 series in the store displays.

According to channel sources, distributors have already completed the payment for the stocked goods, but the specific sales time for delivery still needs further confirmation from Huawei. Currently, many channels indicate that the Huawei Pura 70 series will be directly available for sale on April 18th, and Huawei will not hold a new product launch event before the sale, similar to the direct sale approach of the Mate 60 series.

Sales information

Judging from the high demand for the Huawei Pura 70, it is certain that there will be a shortage initially. If one fails to purchase through official channels, buying from third-party channels will likely involve a markup. Therefore, if you want to get your hands on the Pura 70 series, it’s advisable to pre-order now. Waiting for the Pioneer Plan sale might result in missing out on the first batch.

According to insiders, the Huawei Pura 70 series will offer 12GB of RAM across all models, a significant increase compared to the previous generation’s 8GB RAM. Additionally, the Pura Pro+ and Pura Art models will also offer a version with 16GB of RAM and provide up to 1TB of internal storage.

The reason for the overall memory upgrade is likely due to the use of large models, as large models require ample memory space. With support for large models, the Huawei Pura 70 significantly improves photo clarity, especially in telephoto photography, where AI-based generation enhances clarity. This feature is similar to Xiaomi’s Mi 14 Ultra’s UltraZoom, which enhances clarity through algorithms, though there may be some differences compared to optical zoom. In terms of imaging sensors, a 1-inch class large bottom main camera will be used, with all main cameras featuring a variable aperture design and equipped with periscope telephoto lenses. Even users purchasing the standard model can enjoy top-notch imaging experiences.
