iQOO Z9 Series: A Sneak Peek into the Upcoming Releases
According to the recent updates from @iQOO Mobile’s official account, it seems like most of the performance, battery life, and fast charging specifications of the iQOO Z9 Turbo have been unveiled. Additionally, the official announcements suggest that the iQOO Z9 series will be launched at the new product launch event on April 24th and is rumored to include three models: iQOO Z9 Turbo, iQOO Z9, and iQOO Z9x. As per the current information, this new series aims to challenge the market with the lightest 6000mAh phone, where the Turbo version stands out as the only model featuring a dual-core setup.
Recently, @iQOO Mobile teased two posters, emphasizing the “#iQOO Z9# and iQOO Z9 Turbo” as being equipped with the largest-ever Blue Ocean battery, with a remarkably thin body of 7.98mm, thus aiming to challenge the market with the lightest and thinnest 6000mAh smartphone. The Turbo variant, with its unique dual-core processor, promises a smooth and enjoyable user experience that surpasses native frame rates, offering exceptional performance and battery life. The grand reveal is set for April 24th at 19:00.
Public information reveals that the Blue Ocean battery technology is a joint venture between vivo and Ningde New Energy, introducing a groundbreaking “new energy supply system” covering materials, chemical systems, process technologies, and ensuring an excellent balance between battery energy density and fast charging. This innovation aims to enhance lithium-ion transport efficiency, improve smartphone battery life, and elevate flash charging technology. Previously, the vivo X100 series debuted with the Blue Ocean battery, claiming to break through the battery technology constraints and provide unparalleled battery life, bidding farewell to battery anxiety.
As per the teasers shared by @Jia Jingdong, Vice President of vivo and General Manager of Brand and Product Strategy, the iQOO Z9 Turbo boasts a novel “Wanli Side Window” design inspired by aircraft and ship portholes. Featuring a squared frame design and a plain white back panel, the device exudes a sleek and elegant look resembling the iQOO12, earning the nickname “mini iQO12”.
Apart from the battery technology, the iQOO Z9 series pioneers the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8sGen3 processor, scoring over 1.76 million on AnTuTu benchmark. The Turbo variant introduces a discrete graphics chip for enhanced features and innovative technologies. With 6K Tianmu VC liquid cooling and iQOO’s largest heat dissipation plate, the device ensures optimal performance without any compromise. The 1.5K 144Hz esports high-refresh-rate display, flagship-grade design language, and slim body design collectively deliver a Z9 Turbo that strikes a perfect balance between performance, battery life, and user experience. The Z9 model shares many similar features with Turbo in terms of battery, cooling, display, and design, offering a comprehensive and cost-effective user experience.
Additionally, the iQOO Z9x hosts the Snapdragon 6Gen 1 processor, featuring a 6.72-inch LCD screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. It includes an 8MP front camera, a 50MP primary rear camera, and a 2MP portrait lens. With a built-in 6000mAh battery supporting 40W wired fast charging, the device weighs 199 grams. The iQOO Z9 adopts the Snapdragon 7 Gen3 processor, offers a 6.78-inch OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, an 8MP front camera, a 50MP+2MP rear camera setup, a 6000mAh battery supporting 80W wired fast charging, and weighs 195 grams.
Furthermore, the iQOO Z9x and iQOO Z9 feature LPDDR4X+UFS2.2 storage combinations, while iQOO Z9 Turbo offers LPDDR5X+UFS4.0. Interestingly, Z9x retains a standard 3.5mm headphone jack but lacks under-display fingerprint recognition, infrared, and NFC capabilities, unlike Z9 and Z9 Turbo, which include these features. All three new models will come with the OriginOS 4.0 operating system based on Android 14 out of the box.
