On April 22, OPPO held a media communication event to celebrate the 10th anniversary of its fast charging technology. OPPO’s fast charging scientist, Zhang Jialiang, announced that the upcoming OPPO K12 will be equipped with a long-life 100W Super Flash Charge and a 5500mAh large battery, capable of achieving 10 hours of talk time with just 5 minutes of charging, ushering in an era of widespread adoption of 100W flash charging and ultra-long battery life.

In 2014, OPPO released the first generation of VOOC flash charge on the Find 7. Over the past decade, flash charging technology has evolved from the 22.5W VOOC flash charge to the currently mass-produced 240W SUPERVOOC super flash charge. The user base for flash charging has also expanded from a small number of high-end flagship users to over 300 million users. Zhang Jialiang stated, “OPPO’s flash charge has changed users’ habits of using their phones, alleviated the charging anxiety of countless people, and accelerated the popularization of fast charging in the industry. Over the past decade, OPPO has transformed ‘fast charging’ into the ‘standard charging.'”

Currently, OPPO leads the global smartphone industry with over 3700 patented applications for fast charging, ranking first. Almost every two valid authorized patents related to fast charging include one related to OPPO. At the same time, OPPO has granted fast charging patent licenses to over 40 eco-partner brands and has been deeply involved in the development of standards such as UFCS fusion fast charging, working with industry partners to promote more convenient fast charging services for smartphone users. OPPO’s flash charging technology has also received a national-level Scientific and Technological Silver Award.

Zhang Jialiang mentioned that in the future, flash charging technology will continue to make advancements and breakthroughs in material technology, systems, and software. However, for users, the marginal benefits of charging efficiency are beginning to decrease gradually. Users not only expect fast charging but also hope for smartphones to have more sustainable battery life.

According to DOU’s battery life test, the OPPO K12 boasts a battery life of up to 1.88 days, a gaming time of up to 8.76 hours, and supports an ultra-long standby time of up to 17.28 days.
