Xiaomi SU7: The Much-Anticipated Launch

After a long wait, the Xiaomi SU7 is finally making its debut! On March 12, Xiaomi officially announced that a grand Xiaomi car launch event will be held on March 28 to reveal the detailed specifications and prices of the SU7. This news undoubtedly thrilled Xiaomi fans, and Xiaomi also started reservations simultaneously. The first batch of reservation holders can get a sneak peek at the SU7’s charm in 59 stores across 29 cities on March 25.

Taking a look at the highly anticipated Xiaomi SU7, from the previous renders and road test photos, the SU7’s overall design exudes youthfulness and vitality, highlighting its sporty qualities. The front end features a unique teardrop-shaped headlight design, with the inner shape of the headlights resembling the Chinese character “米” (mi), and a lower air intake to reduce brake temperatures.

On the side profile, the SU7 is sleek and elongated, equipped with semi-recessed door handles to reduce air resistance while ensuring convenience. In terms of dimensions, the SU7 measures 4997/1963/1440mm in length, width, and height respectively, with a wheelbase of 3000mm. The rear design is cleverly crafted, featuring a continuous “C”-shaped taillight design named “Saturn Ring” by the officials. Above the lights are embellishments of Xiaomi’s phonetic letters, with a discreet and optional darkened badge, paired with an electric rear wing, exuding a dynamic feel.

Moving to the interior, the SU7 boasts a variety of highlights, including a 7.1-inch flip-up instrument panel + 16.1-inch central touch screen, with a 56-inch display for the HUD section, supporting navigation and driving information like remaining range. The central screen is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 car chip, with stunning UI interface and homepage car model effects. Apart from a techy ambiance, the SU7 retains a significant number of physical buttons in the interior to ensure everyday driving convenience.

The unique layout of the steering wheel buttons places the driver assistance functions on the bottom left and the driving mode adjustment keys on the bottom right. The physical buttons below the central console vary depending on the model, featuring optional electric wing, and air suspension rather than standard equipment.

In terms of powertrain, the SU7 offers two powertrain versions. The dual-motor version boasts a maximum power of 673 horsepower, accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.78 seconds, equipped with a 101kWh CATL lithium battery, capable of reaching up to 800km under CLTC conditions and 750km. The single-motor version has a maximum power of 299 horsepower, accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.28 seconds, with a 73.6kWh LFP lithium battery, expected range of 668km and 628km. The difference in range between the two powertrain versions is related to the wheel size.

After enduring a long wait, the Xiaomi SU7 is finally set to shine on March 28. The rhythm of this car’s release is full of anticipation, and it is believed that on the day of the launch event, the appearance of the Xiaomi SU7 will surely impress everyone.
