On April 18, 2024, Huawei suddenly announced that its imaging flagship for the first half of the year, the Pura 70 Ultra and Pura 70 Pro, had launched as part of its pioneering program and were officially on the market. However, many users may not be particularly concerned about the imaging configurations of their phones; instead, they are more interested in the overall experience and are therefore eagerly anticipating Huawei’s Mate series phones for the second half of the year.

Recently, the well-known digital blogger “Digital Chit-chat Station” revealed that the procurement materials for the Mate 70 series and Pura 80 have been exposed. The former will feature the OV50K as its main camera sensor, with a size of 1/1.3 inches, while the latter’s main sensor will be the OV50X, although the size is yet to be confirmed.

Information available online indicates that the dynamic range of the OV50K sensor is 15EV, surpassing Sony’s LTY900 with 14EV. This advanced dynamic range performance means that the OV50K can more accurately capture changes in light, preserving and displaying both bright highlights and deep shadow details appropriately. It effectively avoids phenomena such as overexposure or underexposure in images, resulting in moderate brightness in highlight areas and rich, clear details in shadows, which is closer to what the human eye perceives. This provides users with a more authentic and vivid visual experience.
