Meizu 21Note Revealed: Snapdragon 8 Gen2, 5500mAh battery, Mid-Range Focus

Embracing the AI Market: Meizu’s Strategy Unveiled

Meizu has expressed its intention to embrace the AI market, stating that the traditional smartphone market no longer meets consumers’ demands. Consequently, Meizu plans to launch a plethora of AI-powered smartphones in the future to cater to consumer needs. Apart from the flagship Meizu 21, which targets the high-end market, Meizu seems to be preparing other products aimed at mid-range consumers, such as the Meizu Note series. Media reports have hinted at the existence of the Meizu Note, speculated to be named the Meizu 21 Note domestically and referred to as the Meizu 21X in China.

Foreign media reported discovering traces of two new Meizu smartphones in the database, identified as the “M468Q” and “M468H” models. According to leaked information, the Meizu 21 Note is expected to feature the previous generation flagship processor, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Additionally, it will boast a 5500mAh battery and support fast charging of up to 66W, though it still lags behind the Meizu 21 in terms of performance. The Meizu 21 is equipped with the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, a 6.55-inch narrow-bezel display, a 4800mAh battery, and an 80W charger. Other specifications for the Meizu 21 Note are currently unclear, but it is unlikely to feature the 200-megapixel CMOS sensor seen in the Meizu 21, and other camera specifications may also be scaled down.

In the domestic market, this smartphone will likely be named the Meizu 21X. The device has already been certified for sale, although it’s evident that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor in the Meizu 21X will lag behind in AI performance compared to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Nevertheless, considering that this phone is equipped with at least the previous generation flagship processor, LPDDR5X RAM, and UFS 3.0 storage, it should be capable of handling some basic AI tasks. However, with the smartphone market having undergone several rounds of upheaval, only the strongest have survived. It remains to be seen whether Meizu can regain consumer favor based on its past reputation.
