Samsung’s Q1 smartphone and tablet production exceeds target by 22%, new models upcoming.

Samsung’s Dominance in Smartphone Market Continues

As a renowned smartphone brand, Samsung has long maintained its dominance in the smartphone market. A report from last October indicated that “Samsung has set a target of 250 million smartphone shipments for the year 2024.”

Now, a recent report from IT Home reveals: “Samsung’s production of smartphones and tablets in the first quarter of this year exceeded its initial target by 22%. Insider sources claim that this tech giant produced 64.5 million smartphones and tablets this quarter.” “Samsung is expected to further increase production to ensure sufficient inventory of traditional smartphones before launching foldable smartphones.”

Regarding the mentioned foldable devices, related leaks have also surfaced.

It is reported that in addition to the usual updates of the Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip, Samsung will introduce the Galaxy Z Fold FE and Galaxy Z Flip FE smartphones.

The all-new Galaxy Z Fold FE and Galaxy Z Flip FE will feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen2 processor, but there will also be versions with Samsung’s self-developed Exynos chip, offering 12GB/16GB of RAM and 256GB/512GB of internal storage.

In terms of dimensions, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold FE measures 67.1 × 155.1 × 15.8-14.2 mm (unfolded); the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip FE measures 71.9 × 165.2 × 6.9mm (unfolded).

In addition to the brand-new FE foldable models, leaks about the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold6 series and Galaxy Z Flip6 series from Samsung in the second half of the year have also emerged recently.

Among them, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 weighs 248 grams and does not have a dedicated slot for the S Pen stylus, so it needs to be used with a protective case.

Samsung is expected to improve the feel and durability of the ultra-thin flexible glass (UTG) cover panel to provide better screen protection. The hinge part will also adopt a new design combined with an improved drip hinge. By introducing a novel hinge module, the device’s thickness when closed will be approximately 11 millimeters, without compromising durability.

The screen-to-body ratio of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 will be higher, equipped with a brake hinge to ensure stability during the folding process. It will also adopt a solution with multiple shells around the hinge module to evenly distribute the load on the flexible display, providing a more robust and durable user experience.

At the same time, the all-new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 will be equipped with the third-generation Snapdragon 8 flagship platform, with a built-in 4600mAh battery, offering a 16GB RAM version; it will use titanium material, making it thinner and lighter, offering three optional body colors, and equipped with three rear cameras.

In terms of imaging specifications, Samsung is expected to bring a 200-megapixel rear main camera for this generation of foldable screens, but there are also reports suggesting it will stick to the 50-megapixel rear main camera solution.

Meanwhile, other lenses may include a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera and a 10-megapixel 3x optical zoom lens. The inner screen will feature a 4-megapixel under-display camera.

If Samsung does not upgrade its rear main camera, the difference in imaging specifications between the all-new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 and its predecessor will not be significant.

Additionally, according to sources, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6 in the second half of the year may be equipped with Samsung’s own Exynos chip.

At the same time, another leak from a different source also mentioned similar information. According to this, besides the Galaxy Z Flip series, standard, Plus, and FE versions of the Samsung Galaxy S series will also introduce models with Exynos chips.
