Recently, a digital blogger revealed that the previously rumored Huawei’s upcoming small foldable screen smartphone, Pocket S2 (tentatively named), will be part of the “Pioneer Program” and will have a new product launch event. It is also rumored that this device may be equipped with the Kirin 9000S processor. Furthermore, there is news suggesting that the new product launch event will take place next month under the codename “LEM,” and in late February, it will initiate “blind appointments.” Additionally, the event may feature new products such as Huawei’s Smart Selection smart door lock.
Huawei distributor @看山的叔叔 recently leaked that Huawei is preparing to launch a new flip-style foldable screen smartphone in February, codenamed LEM. This follows Huawei’s release of the P50 Pocket (Treasure Box) in 2021 and the Pocket S in 2022. Additionally, digital blogger @定焦数码 previously disclosed that “LEM will be released after the Spring Festival, probably after the Lantern Festival, in late February, and some stores will start promoting ‘post-holiday blind appointments.'”

It is also likely that this new device, like the Huawei P70 standard version, could be equipped with the Kirin 9000S processor. Combining this with earlier exposure, this Huawei small foldable new device is likely the Pocket S2. Although Huawei has not officially stated this, from the network speed test of the Huawei Mate 60 series, this processor has reached 5G speed. If the leaks are true, this means that the Huawei Pocket S2 will be Huawei’s first 5G small foldable screen smartphone product.
In December of last year, renderings and protective cases of the suspected Huawei Pocket S2 foldable screen new device were leaked. From the leaks, it is seen that the Huawei Pocket S2 continues the design language of the Pocket S, still using a vertical folding scheme, with a circular camera design housing three cameras. Below the lenses is a circular secondary screen, symmetrically arranged with the camera module. This secondary screen supports touch, can display notifications, and in the folded state, can activate the rear camera for selfies, allowing real-time preview.
On the protective case, two circular areas can be seen on the body shell, speculated to be the camera module and external secondary screen area. On the right side of the device, there is a button opening, indicating that the physical power button and volume controls are likely placed on the right side of the device. However, currently, information about the new Huawei small foldable smartphone is still in the rumor stage, and the final accurate information will have to come from the official announcement.
