Apple’s iPhone 15 Receives Yet Another Price Drop!
Since the release of the iPhone 15 last year, it has been continuously dropping in price. It experienced a price drop shortly after its launch and has been consistently decreasing ever since, offering discounts during events like Singles’ Day, Christmas, Chinese New Year, and Lantern Festival.
Not only third-party sellers but even Apple’s official prices have been reduced, truly surprising everyone.
Recently, the entire iPhone 15 series received another price reduction on third-party e-commerce platforms:
- iPhone 15 now starts from 4498 yuan
- iPhone 15 Plus starts from 5298 yuan
- iPhone 15 Pro starts from 6348 yuan
- iPhone 15 Pro Max starts from 7998 yuan
The price drop is quite significant! Compared to the launch prices, there have been reductions of 1501 yuan, 1701 yuan, 1551 yuan, and 2001 yuan respectively. This decrease is unprecedented; in previous years, Apple’s older models usually only dropped by about 1000 yuan after the release of a new model.
Comparing the iPhone 15 with its competitor, the Huawei Mate 60 series, it’s evident that the entire Apple series is now approximately 1000 yuan cheaper than the Huawei Mate 60 series.
As shown below, the iPhone 15 starts at 4498 yuan, whereas the Huawei Mate 60 starts at 5499 yuan, making it 1001 yuan more expensive. Similarly, the Mate 60 Pro is 1151 yuan pricier than the iPhone 15 Pro. Moreover, the Mate 60 Pro Plus is 1001 yuan more expensive than the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
Why is Apple reducing prices so drastically? Quite simply, sales are not going well, forcing them into a price war. However, it appears that their target is mainly the Huawei Mate 60. Among domestic brands, only the Mate 60 poses a threat to the iPhone 15.
Hence, Apple decided to lower prices significantly, going a step further than Mate 60 with a 1000 yuan reduction. It’s up to the users to decide now, as Mate 60 may not be readily available while Apple has abundant stock, ready for immediate purchase.
In reality, Apple enjoys high profit margins. However, when pushed into a corner and compelled to engage in a price war with domestic brands, things can get pretty intense. With iPhone 15 priced at 4498 yuan and Huawei Mate 60 at 5499 yuan, which one would you choose? Similarly, when comparing the 7998 yuan iPhone 15 Pro Max with the 8999 yuan Mate 60 Pro Plus, the decision becomes even more challenging.
This situation underscores the importance for domestic phone manufacturers to be cautious. Following a strategy solely focused on high-end markets might not be sustainable. Apple’s price reductions have a significant impact, highlighting the evident advantages of iOS.
